“ I love Post Office Pies for two reasons, it's local, and it's good! I got the chicken pesto pizza, and it was delightful. The pesto was fresh, slightly sweet, and earthy. The chicken was juicy and savory. The two paired well with each other, and the crispy, freshly baked crust made for an unforgettable pizza. The service was fast and friendly. As far as I could tell, there weren't any COVID-19 precautions, but the establishment was clean and the menu options were affordable. The ambiance was a reflection of the uniqueness and character of Avondale. If you're from out of town and like pizza, I recommend stopping by. ”
“ Post Office Pies is an Avondale institution and a fun and delicious destination for pizza. The place has a cool overall ambiance and the service has always been friendly and professional. Post Office Pies has always provided a good time and some solid pizza. Again, this is an iconic institution in the Avondale section of Birmingham, Alabama. I am a huge fan of pizza snd being from New Jersey, a state that is known for fantastic pizza, it is sometimes difficult to find good pizza since moving down here to the south back in 2001. So, it is always amazing when I do find great pizza and truly a cause for celebration. And, hey, what better to celebrate finding great pizza than with a slice of that wonderful pizza in hand? I would definitely recommend Post Office Pies. ”

“ I got the lunch special which was a one topping 9 inch pizza with a drink. I got a sweet tea of course. The 9 inch pizza was perfect for me. I got pepperoni on it. The hospitality was special. I asked for a piece of foil to take my pizza home on a flight. I was checked in on and taken care of. One of the cooks wore a Pizza Planet shirt. ESPN was on with subtitles as music played low enough to hear and have a conversation. There isn't a parking lot. I parked around the corner. ”
“ It's been awhile since I've been to Post Office Pies. After several rounds of darts and beer at 41st bar which is in walking distance, we were hungry and ready for pizza. One of my sons and husband's favorites is the Swine. It is loaded with sausage, pepperoni, bacon. It also has basil, meat sauce and mozzarella which makes it the perfect pizza for meat lovers. I prefer a vegetarian pizza, so I ordered a pizza with roasted red peppers, red onions and roasted garlic. It was delicious. Some of my favorite things about Post Office Pie's pizza are the big leaves of basil that they put on top. They also hand toss their pizza and bake it in brick oven. Pizza is not the only thing that is great about Post Office Pies. They also have a great selection of craft beers on draft and offer fun cocktails such as the Postal Punch, the Priority Mail and the Postman's Mule. Post Office Pies is located in the walkable Avondale district, so when you are finished with your meal, there are ice cream places, bars, and a park nearby. ”
“ Post office pies is always a solid pizza place. The location is near a few other restaurants and bars in Avondale so on the weekends and Friday nights it's pretty busy. During normal daytime it was pretty empty so there was plenty of seating (mostly indoors only a table or two outside). My friend and I ended up getting the chicken pesto pizza and it was pretty good. It was a different option but not too light/heavy, just right. Place was clean, bathrooms were nice, staff was friendly. Overall a good solid spot. ”
“ Post office pies is a pizza establishment located in the Avondale portion of Birmingham Alabama from what I gathered from the nearby signs and store names. Me and my family are on a family vacation from Florida to Destin and stopped in Birmingham for the day to checks out the city. We was in nearby Vulcan park and just finished and wanted pizza for lunch and This place caught our attention. The inside decor here was pretty cool. The mural on the wall and the old huge fire ovens specifically. They seems to mainly have banquet or mess hall type tables where you share big long tables. They did have some booths and stuff but my large party of 7 was sat at the big tables. Service was pretty quick and good. We ordered a 12 inch cheese and pepperoni and my wife got a baked ziti and a salad. The pizzas were very good. Very small and thin but had a strong flavor. I wish they had bigger sizes as these are mainly gonna feed 1-2 people at the most. And they are priced pretty high. But they were tasty. My wife was just ok with here ziti. She didn't want to get a pizza because three may have been overkill so she got herself a pasta. She regretted it and preferred pizza when she tried it. She said it wasn't bad. It just had a weekend tasting sauce to it. Kinda cheap tasting she said. Overall we had a really good experience here. It was bre tasty. Place was cool and atmosphere was great. A bit pricey for the substance received but nothing too outrageous. Definitely Worth checking out to me. ”
“ Poor planning on Mother's Day left us here for brunch/pizza Glad we stopped in because it was good! We ordered bloody Mary's. They were ok. The pizza was much better. So refreshing to have a non-greasy pizza in Birmingham! the restaurant was clean and service was great. I will come again and Bering our friends! ”
